September 25, 2006

I am glad to report we had an excellent year in 2005/2006. It was nice to see some new faces as well as old friends at our meetings. My first year in office was quite interesting to say the least. From our special guest from Cazenovia College to presentations on Photovoltaic, last year went by so quick!

Our annual golf outing was a huge success even though we had to endure the cold and rain. I would like to thank all who participated and especially the hole sponsors. Without your support we would not be able to do this year after year. Mark your calendar, next year’s golf outing will be June 8, 2007 at the Links at Sunset Ridge. For more information or to sign up please contact Mike Ladouceur or Scott Jaworski at bom@cnyies.org.

This year we are planning several new and exciting events. The events include the Central New York inaugural Excellence in Lighting Awards. These awards will showcase lighting designs from the areas brightest and most talent designers and engineers. The awards will be held in February 2007 and are open to anyone who wishes to submit a project. More information will be coming on the website.

In March 2007 we will have our March Madness Celebration – this is also new to the CNYIES. It will be a chance for you to get together with old and new friends and watch some basketball. You will also have a chance to win a big screen television set.

We are also planning a trip to Light Fair in New York City in April 2007. The trip to Light Fair is always a good time, keep your eyes on the website for the bus sign-up sheet, this one day event allows you to see the floor show of the latest in lighting technology and trends.

I would like to thank all our members for your support; without you we would not have this fine organization. I would also like to send out a special thanks to the Board of Managers. Without all their hard work and dedication we would not be able to put on these events year after year.

Again, don’t forget to check out our website for updated schedules and event information.

Please feel free to contact me or any of the board members with questions or ideas you might have to improve our CNYIES section. Have a great year!

Regards,

Paul Mahaney, LC
